The ancient technique of applying vitreous (glass) enamel is a meticulous process. Multiple thin layers of finely ground glass, coloured with pigment, are hand-applied to the etched silver. Each layer is kiln-fired at extremely high temperatures to fuse the glass to the silver. This process is repeated until the desired effect is achieved, and then the piece is hand-polished to reveal the lustrous, glossy smooth surface of the glass, resulting in a colour that will never fade.

The pendant hangs on a sterling silver chain with tiny silver beads, measuring 45cm. If you prefer a longer or shorter chain, please contact us to inquire about these options.
